How we clean your gutters

A two-storey house usually takes us two to three hours. Here is what happens in that time.

    Clear every run by hand

    Leaves, fir needles and roof moss come out by the scoop and go straight into bags. We don't blow it onto your lawn or the roof.

    Flush each downspout

    A hose goes down every one until water runs clear at the bottom. Packed elbows get cleared from below.

  3. 3

    Show you what we found

    Photos of any pulled hanger, leaking joint or soft fascia board. We tell you before doing anything extra, and there is no obligation to fix it.

Why Regular Gutter Cleaning Matters on the West Coast

Vancouver receives approximately 1,150 mm of annual rainfall, one of the wettest cities in Canada. When gutters become blocked, that water has nowhere to go. It overflows down your siding, pools at your foundation, and works its way into crawl spaces and basements.

The Lower Mainland's combination of heavy deciduous tree canopy (maple, birch, alder) and evergreen shedding from cedar, Douglas fir, and hemlock means gutters block faster here than in drier parts of the country. Most Vancouver homes need cleaning at minimum twice per year. Properties with heavy tree coverage may need it three or four times.

The cost of clogged gutters is not just aesthetic. Water damage to fascia boards, soffit rot, foundation erosion, and basement flooding are the real consequences (how clogged gutters cause basement leaks). A routine gutter cleaning is a fraction of the cost of any of those repairs.

How often do gutters need cleaning?
